Playing Catch Up with Our Blog

Oh my where to begin. Let's start with our trip to Family Camp meeting. It was a great time and God really helped us has a family. I think that is the point of family camp and everything. Jackson had a great time playing with the other kids. Scott and myself were pretty happy with how well Jackson played with the other kids. Just to show you how worn out Jackson and dad were here is a picture just to sum it all up.

The next wonderful trip that we took has a famiy was to the Natural History Musuem here in Dayton. We thought that Jackson might enjoy it but only came to find out there was few things there geared to his age. We managed to have a great time though. The only negative thing that happened was when Jackson was running thru a wooden tunnel that was set at different heights and smacked his head at a full run at one point. Scott wishes he coud have taken a picture of seeing a pregant women jump into this kids tunnel. Here are a couple of pictures from our trip.

The next trip was to the Columbus Zoo. We went with Scott's brother and his family. It was a great time with the only problem being that Jackson was a bit to young in our minds to fully understand what he was looking at. Here are a couple of pictures from our trip.

We have also prepared the room for Madison's arrival. I will not begin to tell you all the fun we had painting a blue room for a boy to a pink room for a girl. My dad and Scott where the lucky ones that got to paint this room. They started on a Friday night. After they got done with one coat on two walls a problem 'popped' up. We alays wondered why there was a chair railing aroung the room. We found out this night. What seems to have happened is that, they placed wall paper on the top portion of the wall. Before they moved, they must have painted over top of the wall paper. There were bubbles in numerous spots. They called it a night when they saw those bubbles. They were trying to come up with an idea on how to fnish this room. Scott went to a local home improvment store and got some glue Saturday morning. When he went back into the room he noticed something about the walls. The bubbles had gone down over night. He decided to just finish painting the room and worry about peeling the wall paper down he road. He is hoping that Madison will never want to change the paint color. Here are a couple of pictures of the room.

Okay, I guess it is time to get to what everyone has check in to see. November 2nd, we went into the hospital to start the induction of Madison. After what seemed like hours of labour at 4:29 pm Madison Grace Caplinger was born. She was 8 lbs. and 9 ounces and 20.5 inches long. Thankfully she weighed less than Jackson. This would make you think that this labour would have been easier. That is what I thought to. Even after 2, yes, 2 epidurals the pain was extreme. The first epidural when it was placed it got bent at the end not allowing it to work. Scott made the mistake of giving me his hands to squezze. He changed the brakes on the rear of the van Saturday and cut his hands. I broke open the scabs on his hands. Sorry again for that. The reason for the pain was that she was pressing against my tail bone. The doctor came in and asked if she had time to change and I told her no in a very firm voice. When she was born it looked like she had strawberry blond hair but the longer she has been with us we have noticed that she actually has blond hair with possibly a tinge of strawberry but not much. I guess it is time for us to post the first pictures of the new addition to the Caplinger/Loper/ Franklin Bible Methodist Church family.

The biggest worry that we had was how Jackson would react with Madison. We were praying that God would help him with accepting her. The first time he saw her all he could say was baby. He also gently rubbed her head an held her hand. But the nicest thing was when he slowly moved in and gently kissed her on the head without anyone telling him to. Here are a couple of pictures of them together.

Hopefully, we will be able to post a little more regularly. Let's not count on it though.;)

A Tribute to my Big Brother

Randy,

As it nears a week of you being gone my heart is still bleeding. Each day I wake up I keep thinking it can't be. We loved you so much, well we still do. Heaven is now a much more special place since your passing. Why did you have to go? God only knows that answer, and we have to trust God. I must say that this has been one of the longest weeks but yet the shortest weeks in my life. I am so glad we made it to Grand Rapids to be with Heather as the shock settled into reality. Its still so hard to believe that Our precious Husband, Father, Son, Brother and Uncle was taken away from us at such a young age, but Randy you were ready to meet God and thats all that matters. We miss you terribly, I don't ever think there will be a day that goes by that there won't be tears. But for now we must all make ourselves ready to meet Jesus, so that one day we will see you again.

Love and miss you,
Suzanne

The Awaited Update

These are all the Loper grandkids at Chrsitmas 2008. There are 2 yet to make their entrance into our world. Thos little babies will make 15 grandbabies for my mom and dad.

This is Jackson getting his first haircut. He was an awesome little man, he didn't even cry.

There's a story behind this, but this is how mischievious my little man is. I had been cleaning all day, I was very thirsty so I opened up a can of diet coke. Well I came into the kitchen for someting and left my diet coke sitting on the end table. WRONG THING TO DO. About 5-10 minutes later I said to Scott I haven't heard anything from Jackson in about 5 minutes. Scott went to check on him thinking he was in his room playing. But no he was hiding behind our recliner quenching his thirst with a nice cold diet coke. Whats so funny is he loved it.
Thus the face when I took the diet coke away.

Sorry its been a while since I last updated, but things have been really busy around here. To start with I been making adjustments with my new hours at work. I usually work 4p-12:30a, but during the last few weeks of December I was lucky to get by 1 or 1:30am. Which any of you mamas out would know that if you have early rising children, there's no rest for the weary. And by the way Jackson is an early riser. I do love my new job though. It's no were near as stressful as ICU. I do miss some of the excitement at times. Well on to better topics, like
Jackson.

Jackson is the typical rowdy 13 month old boy. He is extremly busy and has his mama hopping. Jackson started walking when he was 10 months so 3 months later he is running, and running good, that is away from me. Mister Jack celebrated his first birthday in style on December 4. We had his bithday party on Thanksgiving night so all the family could be there. He devoured the cake, and made an extreme mess. He also had his first haircut on his first b-day. It looks so cute. My little baby is growing into a little man.

Now that I have more time on my hands I'll try to post more often. Thanks so much for not giving up on me.
